The Goldene Ananas kicks the season off as always, mud and all. The big one this year is the Rally di Romagna in May - five days of stage racing in Emilia, my third attempt at this format after the Transalp and last year’s Sudety MTB Challenge. After that it’s a mix of gravel, cyclocross and the usual local marathon closer to home with the Alb-Gold Trophy in September, before the cross season proper kicks back off in October with the Biscuit Cup finale and a new Ananas season, plus the two Bundesliga rounds on my doorstep in Vaihingen and Magstadt in November.
